I pray this company remains in business but seems it is taking risk for the general public with their associates not wearing mask. I would rather travel to Dallas to watch movies with a saver environment. Apart from the usual mainstream films, Cines Capitol also projects more unique films, concerts, opera, sports championships and documentaries. This makes me afraid to order any item from the kitchen much less have someone bring it to me with out a mask on. I am surprised this place has not been shut down. It seems this establishment would want to protect everyone, staff and patrons. This does surprise me since our region has been above 15% almost 20% for the last 24 days. We have been told at the Dallas locations that wearing a mask is a corporate mandate but it is not being followed at this location. We grabbed a drink at the bar and the female bartender was wearing hers as well as some of the servers we saw but other servers bringing food into the theater did not. In addition to the single closures by CMX and GTC, New Vision Theatres closed all of their locations last summer including metro Atlanta outposts in Cumming and Lithonia. We love this place and have come here many times however since the pandemic we have noticed the GM is not wearing his mask and the kitchen staff pouring your water and soft drinks are not either. Shortly after the new year, we also reported that Georgia Theater Company (GTC) had permanently closed its Park 12 Cobb Cinemas in East Cobb. ToNeTo Atlanta reported this past September that CMX CinéBistro at TOWN Brookhaven in Brookhaven would not reopen after initially closing earlier in the year to complete a fire-caused renovation. In metro Atlanta, several theater locations have already permanently closed due to the pandemic. AMC Theatres, Regal Cinemas, Georgia Theater Company and CMX CinéBistro, among others, have all suspended operations for weeks, and then months at a time, over the past year, with Regal still closed indefinitely. SMG is one of several theater operators facing financial hardship as a result of the pandemic. At the time, the theater chain operated 33 locations nationwide. Dallas, Texas-based Studio Movie Grill declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy this past October after suffering through months of low sales due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
